Over the course of my 30something years of lifetime I have been given a whole bunch of advices – one of the best one is “Don’t waste your life π”
We only have one life (Imagine being a cat and having 9 lives) so let’s just make the best out of it. Instead of dreaming of your best life – LIVE it and create memories along the way.
A talk with the Captain of the Windeward Bound resulted in her sharing her life story and how she ended up sailing and owning her own tall ship β΅ She has achieved and experienced sooooo much in her life and the best advice that she gave me, was to not waste my life. We only live once, so donβt waste it by doing something that makes you unhappy. She has been surfing πββοΈ diving in the Navy π€Ώ been an Art Director and is now Captain on her own tall ship β΅ Life is supposed to be exciting, fun and filled with adventures. In my eyes she has had an amazing life with many memories (and many more will come, Iβm sure).
Her life story made me think about my life and the things that I have achieved and the dreams yet to be realised. When looking back at my life (30+ years of travels and adventures) I feel grateful that I have so many great memories from travels, playing music, workplaces, living abroad, family, friends and the list just goes on and on and on. My sister normally tells me that she lives through me and my adventures – so my plan is to keep living a happy and exciting life and definitely not wasting it.
It’s always good with a little zoom-out and looking at your life to see if YOU are happy – if not, make changes till you are π
